These terms govern the carriage of goods by Heatherstone Logistics Ltd. They apply to every shipment we collect, regardless of how it was booked. If you book with us, you accept them on behalf of your business.

01Who we are
Heatherstone Logistics Ltd is a private limited company registered in Scotland, company number SC512908, with its registered office at 62–98 Barr Road, Galashiels, TD1, Scotland.
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “Heatherstone” refer to Heatherstone Logistics Ltd. “You” and “the customer” refer to the business or person who books a shipment with us.
02Booking a shipment
A booking is created when you submit a quote and receive a booking confirmation email from us. The confirmation contains the agreed price, service tier, collection window, and the named driver assigned to the shipment.
Bookings are accepted subject to the goods matching the description, weight, and handling notes you provided. We reserve the right to refuse carriage of any consignment that materially differs from the booking.
03What we will not carry
Cash; bullion or precious metals; live animals; firearms; illegal substances; perishable food unless booked on the temperature-controlled tier; hazardous goods classified under ADR unless arranged in advance with our compliance team. The full prohibited list is in your booking confirmation.
04Pricing and payment
Quoted prices are inclusive of fuel surcharge, standard goods- in-transit cover, and (where applicable) tail-lift, temperature-controlled logging, and weekend operating premium. The price you see on the quote is the price you pay.
Account customers are invoiced monthly with thirty-day terms. One-off bookings are paid by card at the time of booking.
05Liability and cover
Standard goods-in-transit cover is included up to £2,500 per consignment for Express, £5,000 for Pallet, and £10,000 for Temperature-controlled. Higher cover is available on request and must be agreed before collection.
Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the value of the goods or the agreed cover, whichever is lower. We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses (loss of profit, business interruption, etc.) except where required by law.
06Service-level commitment
When a shipment fails to meet the service-level commitment in your booking confirmation through fault of Heatherstone, we credit the booking in full to your next invoice. No claims process — the credit is automatic, applied within five working days.
07Cancellation
Cancellations made more than four hours before the booked collection time are refunded in full. Cancellations within four hours are charged at 50% of the booking. Cancellations after the driver has departed for collection are non-refundable.
08Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
